Service Switching and Aggregation Solutions

LuxN, Inc., a leading provider of multi-service optical transport solutions for metropolitan service providers, today announced the LuxN WS 6400 - LuxN's next generation of products. The LuxN WS 6400 offers 320 Gigabits per second capacity lambda switching, service aggregation, and dense wavelength division multiplexing See WDM.  (DWDM), in a scalable, modular platform. Along with the current LuxN WS 3200 series of products, the WS 6400 offers service providers a complete metro solution from access to core.

Current market situations are forcing service providers to focus on methods of cost-effectively improving network efficiencies without sacrificing future scalability. The LuxN WS 6400 addresses these needs with high-port count cross-connect switching at 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE)/OC-192 speeds, and edge aggregation of OC-48, GbE, Fibre Channel services to improve core network efficiencies. The LuxN WS 6400 also enables flexibility in a mesh, ring, or hub-and-spoke topology. The WS 6400 platform is fully compatible with the LuxN Optical Service Level Management (OSLM OSLM Optical Service Level Management (LuxN) ).

"The WS 6400 expands LuxN's horizons and the service offering now available to our customers," said Tom Alexander, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of LuxN, Inc. "After spending many hours talking with our existing customer base and analyzing the current optical markets and their futures, we anticipate a rapidly growing need for greater aggregation capacity, higher bandwidth services and DWDM integration and switching. Dedicated to offering our customers the best services and technology available, the LuxN WS 6400 was designed for the future of the metro markets, and to expand our product offerings into a complete line of optical networking solutions."

About LuxN

LuxN, Inc. is a leading provider of carrier-class protocol independent optical transport solutions for metropolitan service providers. LuxN products allow fiber-based carriers to offer and deliver high-bandwidth, optical-based services. Using WDM (1) (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) A technology that uses multiple lasers and transmits several wavelengths of light (lambdas) simultaneously over a single optical fiber.  technology, up to 64 channels of optical service traffic can be aggregated on a single fiber pair, providing improved fiber plant utilization. High-bandwidth services such as OC-3/12/48, STM-1/4/16, Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, 10/100 Base-T, and T1 can all be easily accommodated. LuxN's newest 6400 product series also provides efficient aggregation and switching of these services. LuxN is the first to offer Optical Service Level Management that permits per-wavelength performance monitoring to provide true Service Level Agreement (SLA (1) (StereoLithography Apparatus) See 3D printing.

(2) (Service Level Agreement) A contract between the provider and the user that specifies the level of service expected during its term.
