Luminex Announces First 4-Port PCI-X-Based Mainframe ESCON Channel HBA.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Luminex Software, Inc., a leading developer of mainframe connectivity, channel gateway, storage and data distribution products, announced today at the SHARE Technology Exchange Expo the industry's first 4-port PCI-X-based mainframe ESCON Channel Host Bus Adaptor (HBA (Host Bus Adapter) See host adapter. ). Luminex also announced today that Platform Solutions, Inc. (PSI) will offer the new 4-port ESCON HBA on PSI's Open Mainframe servers, providing new choice for mainframe datacenters connecting legacy devices with open mainframe computers. The 8999 4-Port ESCON channel from Luminex represents the most advanced PCI-X-based ESCON channel available in the industry.
