Lufttransport-Unternehmen GmbH & Co.-LTU Order Zonal Drying System for Complete A330-200 Fleet After Successful Evaluation.Business Editors NYKOPING, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2000 LTU LTU Luleå Tekniska Universitet (Luleå University of Technology; formerly Luleå Tekniska Högskola) LTU Lithuania LTU La Trobe University (Australia) LTU Lufttransport-Unternehmen GmbH in Germany have ordered installation of CTT CTT Correios (Portuguese Postal Service) CTT Certified Technical Trainer CTT Charity Technology Trust CTT Cholesterol Treatment Trialists' (collaboration) CTT Common Task Training Systems Zonal Drying(TM) System, in order to prevent condensation, in their complete fleet of Airbus A330-200 aircraft, a total of seven aircraft. Installation of first three aircraft is planned for December 2000 and additional two aircraft during year 2001 and two during year 2002. The decision was based upon a successful In-Service evaluation over a six months period carried out in one of LTU 180s A330 aircraft having the Zonal Drying(TM) System installed. The evaluation, overviewed by representatives from Airbus Industry, showed the effectiveness of the Zonal Drying(TM) System in drying out the insulation blankets and continuously preventing the build-up build·up also build-up n. 1. The act or process of amassing or increasing: a military buildup; a buildup of tension during the strike. 2. of new condensation between the cabin and the aircraft skin. "This order is an important step for CTT because not only have LTU been impressed by our system but Airbus Industry have also followed the evaluation and seen the effectiveness. Furthermore, we are delighted that LTU have increased the number of aircraft to be equipped with our system," comments CTT Systems AB president Mr. Torbjorn Johansson the order. "For LTU, being a charter operator with high density aircrafts, it is important to have the Zonal Drying System installed. It helps us to save weight, stop "rain in the plane" and solves problems with corroded cor·rode v. cor·rod·ed, cor·rod·ing, cor·rodes v.tr. 1. To destroy a metal or alloy gradually, especially by oxidation or chemical action: acid corroding metal. electrical connectors up in the crown area. Our intention is to have the systems installed at the time when we take delivery of our new Airbus A330-200 aircraft," comments Mr. Helmut Feigl, LTU Team Leader A330 the order. The CTT Zonal Drying(TM) System is designed to combat problems related to water condensation in the thermal and acoustic insulation of modern passenger aircraft. Airlines encountering "rain-in-the-plane" syndrome and other difficulties related to moisture accumulation in their insulation blankets can use the Zonal Drying(TM) System to mitigate these problems, reduce maintenance costs by increasing the service life of the insulation and realize significant fuel savings by eliminating the non-revenue weight of the accumulated water condensate condensate, matter in the form of a gas of atoms, molecules, or elementary particles that have been so chilled that their motion is virtually halted and as a consequence they lose their separate identities and merge into a single entity. . By keeping dry the area between the interior trim panels and the aircraft skin, the Zonal Drying System also reduces corrosion and the risk of failure of electronic systems and wiring. To date, CTT have the following customers for their Zonal Drying system: * Martinair for B767-300 and MD11 * Jet Aviation for Executive aircrafts B767-200, B757-200 and Boeing Business Jet The Boeing Business Jet series are factory conversions of Boeing airliners for the corporate jet market, initially the 737 series airliners. This aircraft usually seats between 25 and 50 passengers within a luxurious configuration. * KLM KLM Kaiserliche Marine (Enigma: Rising Tide game) KLM Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij (Royal Dutch Airlines) KLM Klub Langer Menschen (German: Tall Person Club) Royal Dutch Airlines for MD11 and B767 * Austrian Airlines Austrian Airlines AG is the flag carrier airline of Austria, headquartered in Vienna. It operates scheduled sevices to over 130 destinations. Its main base is Vienna International Airport, with a hub at Innsbruck Airport.[1] In 2006 Austrian had 10 million passengers. for MD80 * LTU for Airbus A330 * Raytheon Systems Company regarding NASA/DLR SOFIA-project (Stratospheric Observatory For Infrared Astronomy Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy: see infrared astronomy. ) * Canadair Regional Jet (undisclosed operator) * Swissair for MD11 * SAS (1) (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, www.sas.com) A software company that specializes in data warehousing and decision support software based on the SAS System.
