Eidman Award from the American College of Trial Lawyers The American College of Trial Lawyers is a professional trial organization composed of trial lawyers from the United States and Canada. Founded in 1950, the College is dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the for winning the 2005 National Trial Competition. Winners of these tournaments advance to the national competition which involved 26 teams this year. The Loyola team participated in six criminal trials in winning the national tournament. This success in a national competition certainly reconfirms our confidence in Loyola as an excellent training ground for future attorneys." There are currently six attorneys in Fulbright's Los Angeles office that are graduates of Loyola, including partner Tim Bruinsma, J.D. 1973, cum laude, who serves on the school's Board of Overseers. In addition, his father was once Dean of Loyola Law School. The American College of Trial Lawyers also sponsors the National Moot Court A method of teaching law and legal skills that requires students to analyze and argue both sides of a hypothetical legal issue using procedures modeled after those employed in state and federal appellate courts. Competition. Frank Jones, co-partner-in-charge of the Fulbright Houston office, is chair of the National Moot Court Competition Committee. Fellowship in the College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada and is extended by invitation only after careful investigation of candidates on a wide range of criteria.
