The first grades of a new generation of ABS/PBT alloys are now being sampled in the U.S. and Europe by GE Plastics, Pittsfield, Mass. Cytra alloys supersede To obliterate, replace, make void, or useless.

Supersede means to take the place of, as by reason of superior worth or right. A recently enacted statute that repeals an older law is said to supersede the prior legislation.
GE'S earlier ABS/PBT offerings and improve performance by means of novel resin and compatibilizer technology.

Cytra products are aimed primarily at replacing ABS, PP, and PC/ABS PC/ABS Polycarbonate/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene  in auto interiors, although they also have potential in appliances and personal-care products. GE says they offer outstanding resistance to gasoline, oils, greases, detergents and cosmetics. They can be used in unpainted applications and reportedly offer low gloss and superior replication of texture versus competing materials. Cytra products are also said to be more dimensionally stable at elevated temperatures.
