resin from GE Plastics, Pittsfield, Mass., enhances properties of thermosets thermosets, materials that can not be softened on heating. In thermosetting polymers, the polymer chains are joined (or cross-linked) by intermolecular bonding. Thermosets are usually supplied as partially polymerized or as monomer-polymer mixtures.  and TP elastomers. PPO SA120 is said to boost heat resistance, fracture toughness, electrical properties, acid/base chemical resistance, hydrolysis hydrolysis (hīdrŏl`ĭsĭs), chemical reaction of a compound with water, usually resulting in the formation of one or more new compounds.  resistance, and dimensional stability. It also offers inherent flame retardancy and low water absorption. PPO SA120 can be used in styrenic block copolymers (SBCs) such as Kraton-based TPE TPE Thermoplastic Elastomer
TPE Terminal de Paiement Electronique (French)
TPE Total Power Exchange
TPE Twisted Pair Ethernet
TPE Tampines Expressway (Singapore)
TPE Therapeutic Plasma Exchange
hot-melt adhesives, epoxy composites, polyurethanes, unsaturated polyesters, phenolics, cyanate esters, and acrylics.

Supplied in pellets, it has a molecular weight of less than 2500, about 90% lower than typical PPO. The intrinsic viscosity has been lowered by more than 70% for easier processing. Until now, PPO has been limited as a modifier (programming) modifier - An operation that alters the state of an object. Modifiers often have names that begin with "set" and corresponding selector functions whose names begin with "get".  because of its high viscosity. Tg is still about 165C (329 F). Use level in SBCs is 3-7% and in epoxies about 20%. Price range, depending on quantity, is $3.65-4.05/lb.
