Love Bears All for Our Veterans.

It arrives after so many years and then passes so quickly. It seems like just yesterday I was elected National Commander of the Disabled American Veterans The Disabled American Veterans, or DAV, is an organization for disabled veterans that helps them and their families through various means. It currently has over 1.2 million members.

The DAV was controversial during the 2006 election cycle.

That bright August day last year was a most treasured moment in my life, and I have added many more such moments since in my travels. My thanks to all DAV See WebDAV.  and Auxiliary members I have met along the way--to those I have known for years and those recently met--you have made this year a truly unforgettable chapter of my life.

My theme, "Love Bears All for Our Veterans," was expressed in so many beautiful ways during the year. I saw, first hand, at state conventions and other meetings how love for our veterans was put into action. I was proud and humbled to see the work being done across the country for our veterans through our Auxiliary programs. From volunteering in VA medical facilities in so many capacities to caring for veterans right in your own communities, you are doing amazing a·maze

It was a humbling and thrilling experience to ride in the Veterans Day parade in Birmingham, Ala., where they hold two days of activities honoring veterans each year. Hearing the people lining the parade route shouting, "Thank you for your service," was so moving. It was a Veterans Day I will never forget.

I will also never forget the honor of sitting with National Commander Paul Jackson Paul Jackson can refer to:

As I know it, our new leaders will also know that as long as we have young men and women fighting to keep our world free, the DAV and the Auxiliary will have reason to exist. We must always be there alongside the DAV, strengthening our programs to be able to build better lives for our disabled veterans and their families. Thank you for being members of the Auxiliary. Your love bears all for our veterans. God bless you all, God bless our troops everywhere and God bless America.
