J The land of Kelhadden was once a great and pleasant kingdom, governed by a generous king whose subjects were prosperous and happy. However, as foretold in The Book of Ancients, the kingdom was attacked by the invader Ranulf and his Norsemen Norsemen, name given to the Scandinavian Vikings who raided and settled on the coasts of the European continent in the 9th and 10th cent. They are also referred to as Northmen or Normans. Recent research indicates that Norse raids of Western Europe may have been known in the early Middle Ages. Among the causes of the great influx (9th cent., the ruler King Warn was killed, and the king's daughter was forced into marriage with Ranulf. Now, more than 12 years later, Kelhadden has been decimated by Ranulf's greed and peopled by those forced into slavery. The only thing that can save the land is the return of Kelhadden's amulet (processor) Amulet - An implementation or the Advanced RISC Machine microprocessor architecture using the micropipeline design style. In April 1994 the Amulet group in the Computer Science department of Manchester University took delivery of the AMULET1 microprocessor. This was their first large scale asynchronous circuit and the world's first implementation of a commercial microprocessor architecture (ARM) in asynchronous logic., hidden by elemental spirits until a prince worthy of it finds it and brings it home. Twelve-year-old Thorn learns of all this from his caregiver Morwid, whose copy of The Book of Ancients has foretold even more. Thorn learns that he is also the secret prince. Equipped with symbols of earth, fire, water, air, and a dream potion po·tion (p ![]() sh n)n. to help him find his destination, Thorn sets off on his journey to the summer country. He is joined in his quest by the mischievous boy Raven and the girl Lira, whose eyes mirror his own. A liquid medicinal dose or drink. Love's tale has all of the requisite elements of the quest fantasy, including fantastic creatures, surprising twists, and a variety of roadblocks along the way, but in true form, good overcomes evil, and sun shines on the future of Kelhadden.
