123 pages

Lin (education, U. of Maryland, College Park) is the author of four books and numerous articles on social equality, school reform, and environmental education. In this text she argues for a paradigm shift in education, away from the current emphasis on tests and efficiency and towards a system that ". . . facilitates the formation of a compassionate and loving global community, and one that teaches the younger generation to form a harmonious, respectful relationship with nature." The book invites educators, teachers, researchers, leaders, students, and all those concerned with the well-being of humanity and the planet to dialogue and ponder what should be done to bring about a new paradigm of education in the 21st century.
