, Tim Cahill has created a travelog of sorts about one of his favorite haunts, Yellowstone National Park. With the park's close proximity to his home (hence the title), Cahill waxes philosophically about the realities of the park and its biological diversity. He deals honestly with a myriad of subjects, including but not limited to grizzly bears, "Paint Pots," petrified forests, moonbows, and elks, in such a manner that you feel both his amazement and his rapier wit.

Prichard, in his usual eloquent style, seems to have fun narrating this material. His descriptive oration of a bugling elk elk, name applied to several large members of the deer family. It most properly designates the largest member of the family, Alces alces, found in the northern regions of Eurasia and North America. In North America this animal is called moose. , or rutting moose, causes the listener to pause reflectively on what was just stated and then burst out laughing. Appropriate for all ages, and of particular interest to travel enthusiasts or those with an adventurous spirit.
