Lost! Eyecup adapter ring.Dear MSG MSG: see glutamic acid. Half-Mast, I have inspected many units that use the newest AN/FVS-14 monocular monocular /mon·oc·u·lar/ (mon-ok´u-ler) 1. pertaining to or having only one eye. 2. having only one eyepiece, as in a microscope. mo·noc·u·lar adj. 1. night vision device (MNVD MNVD Monocular Night Vision Device ). I have been surprised at how many of these MNVDs don't have the threaded eyecup eyecup /eye·cup/ (-kup) 1. a small vessel for application of cleansing or medicated solution to the exposed area of the eyeball. 2. optic cup (2). eye·cup n. 1. adapter ring or have a loose one ready to back off and fall off. What's with these non-threaded adapter rings? Should soldiers using the AN/PVS-14 check these rings For threads? SFC D.A.J. Dear Sergeant D. A. J., You've grabbed the brass ring and identified a problem that needs to be solved. A batch of eyecup adapter rings got in the supply system without threads'. The supply system has been purged of these non-threaded rings so turn them in and order new threaded rings with NSN 5855-01-466-7891. Don't try to glue the non-threaded rings in place/They are a little bit bigger titan the threaded ones and glue won't hold them. Half-Mast |
