Los Angeles-Area Companies Among Deloitte & Touche Ranking of North America's 500 Fastest-Growing Technology Firms.

Ten Los Angeles-area companies have been recognized among North America's fastest-growing technology firms in the seventh annual "Technology Fast 500" ranking announced today by Deloitte & Touche's Technology & Communications Group. The Technology Fast 500 ranks the fastest-growing technology companies based on average five-year percentage revenue growth.

Of the 10 local companies, half were repeat Fast 500 winners. The companies included three software firms, three computer firms, two specializing in components, and one each in Internet and in communications.

j2 Global Communications, a Hollywood-based communications firm, was the highest-ranking local company at No. 50 on the Fast 500 list. j2 Global posted an impressive five-year revenue growth rate of 13,170 percent.

Second among the Los Angeles-area companies was Digital Insight Corp. at No. 184 and a repeat Fast 500 winner. Digital Insight is a Calabasas-based computer firm with a five-year revenue growth rate of 3,387 percent.

The next local company on the Fast 500 list was Guidance, an Internet firm based in Marina del Rey Del Rey may refer to:

  • Del Rey, Los Angeles, California, a small district in the west side of Los Angeles
  • Del Rey (band), an indie rock band
. A repeat winner, Guidance came in at No. 205 and experienced a five-year revenue growth rate of 3,067 percent.

The Fast 500 also recognizes "Rising Stars" that have experienced impressive revenue growth and meet the same program criteria yet have been in business less than five years, but at least three years.

Two Los Angeles-area companies were recognized among this year's Rising Stars: Chino-based Alorica Inc., an outsourced customer relationship management services company with a three-year revenue growth rate of 42,700 percent, and GoTo.com, an Internet search company based in Pasadena, which experienced a 12,437 percent three-year revenue growth rate.
