Los Angeles Skyline to be Transformed as World's Tallest Snowman Comes to Life On Cinerama Dome, Marking Opening of Warner Bros.' New Film, ``Jack Frost''.

BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Dec. 2, 1998--Holiday magic will help create a snowy surprise in sunny Los Angeles when Warner Bros. inflates the world's largest snowman atop Hollywood's Cinerama Dome on Monday, Dec. 7 at 11:00 a.m. The snowman celebrates the upcoming opening of Warner Bros.' "Jack Frost," a heartwarming holiday film about a snowman who comes to life to enable a father to give a miraculous gift of love to his son. "Jack Frost" opens nationwide December 11 and stars Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, Mark Addy and Joseph Cross.

Master of ceremonies and honorary Mayor of Hollywood Johnny Grant will join stars from the film as they flip a switch to inflate the snowman to its full size. The group will gather on the third parking level of 6363 Sunset Boulevard, directly across the street from the Cinerama Dome, to have a clear view of the snowman as it rises into sight.

The "Jack Frost" snowman on the Cinerama Dome will use the curved building itself as a base and will add a second "snowball," made of 3,000 yards of inflated vinyl-covered nylon, atop the building as a head, complete with facial features, hat and scarf. Employees of El Cajon, Calif.-based Bigger Than Life will spend 450 man-hours to construct the snowman on-site. The finished structure will cover 290,000 cubic feet, rising 145 feet into the air to be visible for miles; it will contrast strikingly with Southern California's usual palm-tree-studded skyline. It will take about five minutes for the snowman to fully inflate once the ceremonial switch has been flipped.

Stated Brad A. Ball, President of Warner Bros. Domestic Theatrical Marketing, "We think this movie has a really magical aspect to it, something that makes children say 'Wow!' The snowman structure also seems a little magical and has that 'wow' factor -- and it lent itself so well to the shape of the building; we couldn't resist."

Photographers will have an unobstructed view of the "Jack Frost" snowman from Parking Level 3 of 6363 Sunset Boulevard. In order to gain access to this site, they will need to acquire press credentials after 9:30 a.m. from a Warner Bros. representative at the site. The Cinerama Dome is also ideally viewed from a helicopter.
