Looney wins twice to lead Pirates.

Marshfield's Ben Looney won the 200 meters and high jump, and the Pirates This is a list of known pirates, buccaneers, corsairs, privateers, and others involved in piracy. This list includes both captains and prominent crew members.

 and high jump. Brandon Nystrom won the 200 and 400 meters for the Tigers, who won the 4x400 relay to close the meet and pull within a half-point of the Hawks.

Girls track and field

Marshfield dominated the field events, including wins from Tracy Boatwright in the high jump, long jump and triple jump, as the Pirates beat host Churchill 85-53 in a Midwestern League dual meet.

Lisa Tedder added wins for Marshfield in the 800 and 1,500, while Stacey Coyle doubled in the shot put and discus. Shasta Yow easliy won the shot put and discus with marks of 34-11 1/2 and 106-6 1/2 , respectively, to help La Pine to 97 points as the Hawks beat Junction City (70) and Creswell (17) in a Sky-Em League triangular meet.

Katy Malone won the 100 and 200 meters, Nikki Gledhill won the 800 and 1,500, and Damaris Tucker took first in the high jump and long jump for the Tigers. Kelly Simon won the javelin for the Bulldogs.

Baseball

B.J. Whirry was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs and Michael Park Michael Park can refer to:

 finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs as Brookings beat visiting Myrtle Point 12-2 in a Far West League game.

Pitcher Dustin Wesel went the distance for the Bruins in a game shortened to five innings INNINGS, estates. Lands gained from the sea by draining. Cunn. L. Dict. h. t.; Law of Sewers, 31.  by the 10-run rule. Jason Steele connected for two of the Bobcats' six hits.

Brett Fitzgerald tossed a complete-game three-hitter, allowing only a second-inning home run by Scott Hutton as Reedsport beat visiting Douglas 5-1.

Fitzgerald struck out eight and walked one, and was 1-for-3 with two RBIs at the plate. Joey Merrifield knocked two hits and scored twice for the Braves.

Girls Tennis

Kelli Royer of Churchill won a showdown with South Eugene's Petrel petrel (pĕ`trəl), common name given various oceanic birds belonging, like the albatross and the shearwater, to the order known commonly as tube-nosed swimmers.  Chapman at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, to highlight a 4-4 tie between the Lancers and Axemen in Midwestern League play.

Candace Lee and Lindsay Wiechert of Churchill beat Cisca Faxon and Natalie Skillern 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Kelly Hopping beat Danae Daugherty 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Courtney Dunham teamed with Leslie Dunham to sweep Liesha Johnson and Minnie Kauffman 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles as Sheldon beat host Thurston 8-0.

Danielle Dayton beat Cassie Barton 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 singles for Sheldon.

North Eugene swept singles play and won a marathon match at No. 4 doubles to clinch a 5-3 win over visiting Springfield.

Kaylie Miille and Ashley Gergold of North beat Rachel Gard and Amanda Busisto 4-6, 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (7-5) in the final doubles match to win the dual for the Highlanders.

Marist slipped by Willamette 6-2 in a nonleague match that featured one three-set result and three tiebreakers.

At No. 3 singles, Bethany Thompson of Marist beat Brandy Kloster 7-5, 5-7, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, Linda Vejnoska and Paula Lafferty of Marist beat Holly Bokn and Stephanie Stephens 7-6 (7-6), 7-5.

Suzanne Massie cruised past Candice Deming 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles to lead a Marshfield sweep of the singles matches as the Pirates beat visiting North Bend North Bend is the name of several places in the United States of America:

 Watson beat Kristi Hampton and Alisha Babb 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles to give the Bulldogs their only win of the day.

Boys Tennis

Erin Noble of South Eugene beat Churchill's Kevin Byran 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 match as the Axemen swept singles play to beat the visiting Lancers 6-2 in a Midwestern League match.

Zach Johnston and Sean Ogle of Churchill beat South's Nic Lamb and Leon Schneider 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.

North Bend dominated singles competition and swept the three contested doubles matches to beat visiting Marshfield 8-0.

Max Brunstein won at No. 1 singles for the Bulldogs and Mike Laport was victorious at No. 3 singles as both players remained undefeated in league play.

Sheldon swept the three contested singles matches without allowing a point and won all four doubles matches despite some closer scores to beat visiting Thurston 8-0.

Arron Spencer beat Jeff Lundholm 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. The most competitive match of the day was No. 3 doubles, where Eric Hayes and Dan Stickels of Sheldon beat Dustin Hayden and Andrew Hart 7-5, 6-3.

North Eugene won three of the four singles matches but Springfield turned the tables in doubles as the Highlanders and host Millers settled for a 4-4 tie.

No. 2 doubles was the only match to go three sets as Jacob Melear and Nathan Pacheco of Springfield outlasted Brandon Thompson and Josh Kagi 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.

Willamette won three of the four matches in both singles and doubles to beat visiting Marist 6-2 in a nonleague match.

Steve Loos and Tyler Viles of Willamette teamed to beat Shon Dunn and Jared Davidson 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5) in a thriller at No. 1 doubles. Jasjit Singh beat Michael Stringfield 7-5, 6-3 at No.1 singles for one of the Spartans' two wins.

Boys golf

Mitch Purvis fired a 73 to lead four players in the 70s for Marshfield as the Pirates beat North Bend 301-345 in a Midwestern League match at Coos Country Club.

Casey McCord shot 75 for Marshfield, Skyler Johnson shot 76 and Tyler Christenson fired a 77. Chas Kintner finished at 81 to lead the Bulldogs.
