The Big Break Contests, sponsored by the world's largest coffee brand -- Nescafe -- calls all coffee lovers to make their innovative goals, dreams and passions a reality, by entering the Big Break Contests.

"Today's younger coffee generation is creative, ambitious and talented," said Gilles Pelissier, marketing manager, Nescafe, Nestle USA Beverage Division. "The Nescafe Big Break gives this generation a chance to change their destinies."

The Nescafe Big Break contest supports and encourages creative and innovative ideas by awarding a $20,000 cash grand prize to help fund one lucky winner's Big Break; three runners-up will each receive a $5,000 cash prize. In addition, Nescafe will also make a $5,000 donation to a charity relevant to the grand prize winner's Big Break plan. Sample ideas for the contest include (but are not limited to):

-- designing your own line of clothing

-- developing a grassroots community program


In 500 words or less, entrants must explain the idea, talent or project behind their Nescafe Big Break ambition and how they would spend their grand prize money toward making their dream a reality. Another way for coffee lovers to join the Big Break fun is to enter the Nescafe Picture This! Photo Contest and send in a photo that showcases the hobby or habit that makes them an original. Three monthly winners will each be awarded $1,000 and an awesome gift basket A gift basket, or fruit basket is typically a gift that is delivered to the recipient at their home or workplace. There are different varieties of gift baskets, some which have fruit only, some with dry/canned goods only (such as tea, crackers and jam) although the standard  with tons of great tasting Nescafe coffee products.

In addition they will be automatically entered for a chance to win the grand prize package worth nearly $4,000, including $3,000 in cash, a digital camera and other cool prizes. The contest runs through Jan. 2, 2001, and selected photos of monthly winners will be featured on www.nescafeusa.com.
