The area was originally mostly forested, and still produces significant timber. and Moundville, Alabama from Vast Exploration Inc. Barrhead, AB In the Barrhead area of Central Alberta, Longford will acquire for Cdn$2 million, the CBM rights for 18,240 gross (4,800 net) acres of land with Mannville CBM potential. These properties are located in the vicinity of the Corbett Creek CBM project where horizontal well technology has recently been successfully applied to exploit CBM Mannville production. Trident Exploration Inc. is Longford Corporation's operating partner in these properties and has extensive drilling and operating experience of Mannville CBM projects in this area. In Corbett Creek, as reported by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board, the average six month initial production from a long length horizontal project generated 280 thousand cubic feet (MCF) per day of natural gas and 256 barrels per day Barrels per day (abbreviated BPD, bbl/d, bpd, bd or b/d) is a measurement used to describe the amount of crude oil (measured in barrels) produced or consumed by an entity in one day. of water. As described on their corporate website, the expectation of Nexen Inc. is that each section of land in this area will produce between 2-6 billion cubic feet (BCF BCF Billion Cubic Feet BCF Bioconcentration Factor BCF British Chess Federation BCF British Coatings Federation BCF Breast Cancer Fund BCF Bank Credit Facility BCF Bulked Continuous Filament BCF British Cycling Federation BCF Boeing Converted Freighter ) of gas and average 1 BCF per well. Manville core samples from Barrhead have yielded gas contents, ash contents and seam thickness to be within 10% of the values found at the horizontal well program at Corbett Creek. In addition, the coal cleating or fabric, a key indicator of permeability, is consistent with that observed in Corbett Creek to the North of Barrhead. Moundville, AL In Moundville Alabama, Longford Corporation has agreed to farm in to a 5,000 acre CBM project with the option to acquire a further 20,000 acres. The pipeline, road, and well site infrastructure already exists from the previous development of a deeper horizon and is available for use immediately. There are four to six coal intervals from 1000-2500 feet that are of interest and they have exhibited gas contents ranging from 100 to 400 standard cubic feet (SCF SCF Service Canadien des Forêts (Canadian Forest Service) SCF Stem Cell Factor SCF Scientific Committee on Food (European Commission) SCF Service Canadien de la Faune ) per ton of coal. A five well pilot program will be initially undertaken to earn a 50% spacing unit working interest.Thereafter Longford will have the option to drill a further 15 wells prior to May 31, 2007 and earn an 80% working interest in the Moundville project. Cedar Cove, an offsetting analogue field to the Moundville prospect, had 100 wells with peak rates of 200 MCF per day per well and ultimate reserves of 1 BCF per well. In the Moundville prospect, an aggregate coal thickness of 42 feet (13 metres) is anticipated with an average gas content of 257 SCF per ton. This equates to a gas in place volume of 9.5 BCF per section and average 1.9 BCF per well with an ultimate recoverable gas volume of 1.9 BCF per section and an average 0.4 BCF per well based on a five spot vertical well development. The transaction between Longford Corporation and Vast Exploration may be considered non-arm's length as there are common directors on the Board of Directors of both companies. The transactions have been approved by the independent directors of both companies, however, they still remain subject to regulatory approval.
