Iconix Brand Group Iconix Brand Group is a brand management company that licenses brands to retailers and manufacturers primarily in the apparel, footwear, and apparel accessory industries.  negotiations to purchase Mossimo Mossimo is a mid-range American apparel company, founded in 1986. Mossimo specializes in youth, teenage, and adult male clothing. It draws from street, urban and sport styles.  Inc., said last week that it would acquire the London Fog London fog may refer to:
  • London Fog (nightclub), a 1960s nightclub on the Sunset Strip where The Doors first played as a house band.

Iconix will pay $30.5 million in cash and $7 million in Iconix stock. The company has been rapidly expanding its brand portfolio of late.

Iconix licenses Bongo, Candie's and Joe Boxer Joe Boxer (also known as Box-oh-Joes, or BJ) is a brand of underwear and related apparel, founded by Nicholas Graham. The brand pioneered the concept of novelty hanging underwear. Joe Boxer is a wholly owned subsidiary of Iconix Brand Group.  to third parties. Its acquisition of Mossimo is expected to close in September. Mossimo licenses its name to Target Corp. for a line of clothing and accessories.

The Iconix-Mossimo deal is expected to close in September when the Securities and Exchange Commission has completed its review.

Santa Monica-based Mossimo posted strong second quarter results earlier this month. Earnings rose 22 percent and revenues were up 14 percent on better sales and lower costs. Mossimo was trading at $7.57 Thursday. Iconix was at $14.49.
