) officially announced that the London Hunt and Country Club in London, Ontario, Canada has been selected as host venue for the 2006 CN Canadian Women's Open. The RCGA also announced the appointment of London Hunt and Country Club's Doug Alexander and Susan Holliday as Host Club Co-Chairs, as well as RCGA Governor Kelly Roberts as Tournament Chairman.

Today's news builds on the momentum of last week's major announcement of CN agreeing to a five-year sponsorship agreement (3 years + 2 year option) to become title sponsor of the Canadian Women's Open tournament, Canadian Women's Tour and Future Links program.

Founded in 1885, the London Hunt Club will play host to the LPGA Tour for the second time in 2006. In 1993 Americans Brandie Burton Brandie Burton (born January 8 1972) is an American professional golfer. She was born in San Bernardino, California.

Burton attended Arizona State University. In 1989 she won the United States Girls Junior Amateur Golf Championship.
 and Betsy King battled in a playoff, with Burton proving victorious. Canadian Dawn Coe-Jones finished third, only one shot back.

"Our tournament objective is to recruit over 1200 volunteers and I know our community will rally to make it a success."

The CN Canadian Women's Open will be part of a premier sports and entertainment lineup taking place in London for 2006. The always popular Ontario Hockey League's London Knights, February's Scott Tournament of Hearts Curling Championships, and July's World Lacrosse Championship The World Lacrosse Championship (WLC) began as a four-team invitational tournament which coincided with Canada's centennial lacrosse celebration in 1967. It is sanctioned by the International Lacrosse Federation.  form an exciting card of local attractions set to welcome the community.
