London's Hayward Gallery announces hiring of new director. Ralph Rugoff, director of the California College of the Arts (CCA) Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, has accepted the position of director of the Hayward Gallery at the South Bank Centre in London, England. The Hayward Gallery opened in 1968 and is considered one of London's most important contemporary art venues. Rugoff, who has been director of the CCA Wattis Institute since 2000, will leave CCA after the Spring 2006 semester.
