Tourism and retailing are important, and the city has motion-picture, biotechnology, and software industries. . [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Unfortunately for those attending the press launch, Gehry was not prepared to answer any questions in the course of the traditional press conference, stating (reasonably and politely) that 'what I have to say is outside'. He did, however, ask one question of the press, whether or not waiving his design fee had guaranteed him a place in heaven; another question that may be too premature to address. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Giving slightly more away when posing for photographs on the Serpentine roof terrace, Gehry alluded to his son's involvement in the project, and mentioned (umbrella in hand) that a design did exist for a series of canvas infills that would catch the rain when required. Having eliminated these from the design, he acknowledged that perhaps this idea may need to be revived to provide shelter for Park Nights, the programme of events that will take place at the pavilion between July and October.
