Lombardi Software Introduces TeamWorks 5: Next Generation BPM Software Brings New Efficiencies to Process Management.

AUSTIN -- New TeamWorks Process Perspectives(TM) deliver high-level modeling, simulation and drag-and-drop BAM to extend business participation in BPM

Lombardi Software today announced the release of TeamWorks 5, the latest version of its next-generation, award-winning business process management (BPM) software. TeamWorks is the only BPM software available today that can keep pace with a dynamically changing business environment. TeamWorks customers get results faster because of the TeamWorks Shared Model(TM), a fundamentally different architectural approach from all other BPM software.

"TeamWorks has changed the way Hasbro interacts with suppliers and partners in our global supply chain," said Doug Schwinn, CIO at Hasbro, Inc. "TeamWorks helps us manage processes across the extended enterprise while giving us the flexibility to continuously improve those processes as the business changes. The introduction of TeamWorks 5 represents a further leap forward in managing change."

Lombardi Software's Process Perspectives are BPM tools built on the TeamWorks Shared Model. With TeamWorks 5, Lombardi introduces new Process Perspectives for high-level modeling, simulation and drag-and-drop Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) capabilities. Business users can now expand their involvement in the definition, deployment, measurement and improvement of their operational processes.

"Lombardi's TeamWorks is an excellent complement to our business process management practice," said Art Barrios, BPM Practice Director for BusinessEdge Solutions. "And now with TeamWorks 5, it has never been easier for business users to understand and improve their processes. This is a very comprehensive, yet easy-to-use, BPM software product that delivers immediate benefits to our clients."

BPM requires the modeling, implementation, execution and performance measurement of processes. The unique architecture that manages those elements of the process is the TeamWorks Shared Model(TM). The shared model eliminates handoffs and replication - both a source of great inefficiency with conventional BPM software - and always ensures that everyone's view of the process is synchronized. The shared model lies beneath the many tools in TeamWorks 5. Each tool performs a different task for its target users - but each user has a perfect, up-to-date understanding of the process. Lombardi calls these tools "process perspectives" - since they are different views of the same process.

"With the introduction of TeamWorks 5, Lombardi Software has raised the bar for BPM solutions by supporting processes that require real-time event management and in-flight process optimization," said Bill Chambers, Principal Analyst with Doculabs, a technology consulting and research firm. "TeamWorks 5 also provides a unique approach to accelerating process application design. It is one of the few products available today that organizations can effectively use as an enterprise-wide BPM infrastructure standard and as a solution for process automation applications that demand rapid optimization."

TeamWorks 5 is focused on the business user - providing even more power in defining, simulating, implementing and optimizing business processes. Key TeamWorks 5 developments include:

--High Level Process Modeling: Allows business users to graphically define the activities, flow and events that drive their process definitions using the same shared model of the detailed deployment tools.

--Simulation: Unique to TeamWorks, users can simulate process execution using both projected and historical data, so they can predict costs and find bottlenecks easily and early.

--Drag-and-Drop BAM: For the first time, business users can graphically model how they wish to track, correlate and respond to external business events by leveraging Lombardi's patented Performance Server.

--Standards-Based: TeamWorks 5 expands Lombardi's support for open standards and is the first BPM product released that fully supports the Business Process Modeling The documentation of a business system using a combination of text and graphical notation. Although UML is widely used, there are many different modeling languages available. See UML and BPML. Notation (BPMN BPMN - Business Process Modeling Notation). With BPMN, business users can now interact with process drawings developed in other modeling environments, such as Casewise and Visio. Additionally, Process Perspectives are now delivered using the Eclipse 3.0 environment, allowing interoperability with other development tools.

"From day one, we developed TeamWorks to be highly flexible, quick to deploy and of high value to the business," said Rod Favaron, president and CEO of Lombardi Software. "By working closely with our customers, we know this 'triple play' is achievable only when the different participants have a shared perspective on the entire process. With TeamWorks 5, we've delivered a solution that allows users to have different perspectives, but ensures that all their work is done in the context of a shared process model, providing better alignment and efficiency across the business."
