Logitech Technology Powers New Video Conversation Feature in MSN Messenger 7.0.

FREMONT, Calif. -- Logitech Webcams Recommended by Microsoft for Application That Delivers Full-Screen, Synchronized Voice and Video Communications

Logitech (SWX:LOGN) (NASDAQ:LOGI), the world's leading manufacturer of webcams, is delivering the advanced video technology that powers the new Video Conversation feature in MSN(R) Messenger 7.0, which is being unveiled today. Video Conversation is set to revolutionize how people use their PC to communicate. With a webcam and headset, MSN Messenger customers in 17 countries can now conduct a high-quality, fully synchronized, full-screen voice and video conversation, for free.

Logitech, with a rich history and expertise in video and audio delivery over IP networks, provides the technology that synchronizes the audio and video streams. The technology allows these streams to traverse firewalls and Network Address Translation (NAT) devices, which have often blocked video communications and frustrated consumers in the past. Logitech also operates the servers that support Video Conversation.

Having sold more than 25 million webcams worldwide, Logitech makes the only webcams that are currently recommended for MSN Messenger 7.0. All of Logitech's webcams will work with the application, and many will include the "Recommended by Microsoft for MSN Messenger" logo on their retail packages. In Europe, Logitech is introducing Logitech(R) QuickCam(R) Communicate STX for MSN Messenger, which features a high-quality webcam with a Logitech headset in an affordable package.

MSN Messenger customers can open a Video Conversation within the familiar message window, or launch into a full-screen mode. This mode fills the screen with the video of a friend or family member, hiding the instant messaging window and minimizing the caller's own video image. In full-screen mode, using Video Conversation is almost like being in the same room.

Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX for MSN Messenger

The stylish Logitech QuickCam(R) Communicate(TM) STX for MSN Messenger webcam features a VGA CMOS sensor with a resolution of 640-by-480 pixels, and enhanced performance even if lighting is less than ideal. The camera sports a polished black finish, flexible flat-panel clip and a cool blue light that glows when in use. The package also includes the stylish Logitech(R) Internet Chat headset, which has a noise-canceling microphone and delivers stereo sound. The QuickCam Communicate STX for MSN Messenger will be available in Europe beginning in June for a suggested price of EUR 69.99.
