Logistix Acquires IBM Subsidiary in Mexico; Acquisition of Adatsa Expands Outsourced Software and Hardware Manufacturing Capabilities in Mexican Market.


FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 1999--

Logistix, a world leader in supply chain management, outsourced operations and e-commerce services, today announced the acquisition of Aplicaciones de Alta Tecnologia (Adatsa) from IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) .

The acquisition is part of a two-fold strategy designed to enhance its global network of operations centers and to expand its worldwide relationship with IBM, one of Logistix' key global customers. In addition to Guadalajara, Logistix provides assembly and distribution services for IBM in other Latin American, Asian, and U.S. facilities.
