Loftware Enhances its Product Offering Preparing Customers for New Auto ID Evolution - RFID; Strategic Alliances Form as Loftware Demonstrates Pilot Initiatives at DC Expo in Chicago This Week.
Key enhancements to the Loftware Print Server include support for new barcode symbologies proposed by the Uniform Code Council. This includes Reduced Space Symbology, the tagging of products that are too small for conventional UPC symbols, as well as, UCC barcode wizard and composite component symbology. These symbologies will encode EAN.UCC system keys as well as Application Identifiers. Industries that will benefit from this solution are retail, healthcare and pharmaceutical.
Three Editions Readied for Small, Medium and Large Enterprise Applications
As Loftware prepares for evolutions within the Auto ID industry, its flagship product line, the Loftware Print Server, will be available in three editions: Starter, Standard and Premier. These editions are solutions that allow small, mid-size and large companies the features and functionality required within each sized facility. "Loftware is uniquely positioned with its technology and as a corporation, to provide Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies with the best barcode and RFID marking strategies available on the market today," stated Loftware CEO, Eric Anderson. "We have invested and engineered wisely with our technology, and now, with the new RFID initiatives being mandated by Wal-Mart, the DOD and others, Loftware's software continues to be highly scalable and robust, fully optimized to meet the demands of RFID without compromising the stability, accuracy and reliability of mission critical applications."
Support for Multiple Standards for the Encoding of RFID Data
Loftware is currently focusing on EPC compliance marking and labeling through its Loftware Print Server technology. The immediate problem for most companies now is simple compliance with the Wal-Mart supply chain initiative to mark product at the case and pallet level with EPC tags. Most industry experts agree that a majority of RFID marked goods will need to continue to supply barcodes in order to support the existing auto ID infrastructure within the supply chain. Just as the Loftware Print Server, supports compliant symbologies, the Loftware RFID module will support multiple standards for the encoding of the RFID data.
Multiple Partners Sign On to Market Loftware Solution
At the Distribution and Computers Expo in Chicago this week, Loftware will provide demonstrations of marked data in both barcode and RFID form directly to an EPC Smart Label. Loftware will showcase this solution with the Alien Technology and the hardware from Monarch (Paxar), Printronix and Zebra. In addition to Loftware's demonstration, several strategic alliances have formed and more than 10 Loftware partners will also be showcasing the Loftware solution. Yantra, a newly added value Reseller for Loftware, will be showcasing its new WMS functionality. "We're excited to include Loftware as part of our warehouse management offering," said Scott Pulsipher, vice president of Product Management at Yantra Corporation. "Their leading print configuration and management solutions provide Yantra customers with the flexibility and capabilities to address label and document compliance requirements and RFID initiatives. Loftware's solutions also simplify the deployment of warehouse processes and lower the total cost of ownership."
Demonstrations of Loftware's 7.3 Release along with the RFID pilots may be seen at DC Expo in Chicago at the Navy Pier from May 19-20th at Booth #252.
