The contract, valued at more than $86 million over five years with options, leverages Management & Data Systems' capabilities in large systems integration and capitalizes on the Lockheed Martin team's strengths with Army legacy systems. One of five battlefield functional areas of the Army Tactical Command and Control System (ATCCS ATCCS Army Tactical Command & Control System ATCCS Air Traffic Command and Control System ), MCS provides tactical commanders and staffs at corps and below with an automated capability for planning, coordinating and controlling tactical operations. MCS is also one of the systems required to complete the Army's command and control `system of systems,' the Army Battle Command System
