Lockheed Martin Corp., Missiles and Fire Control-Dallas, Grand Prairie, Texas, is being awarded a $5,733,000 increment as part of a $6,300,000 modification to cost-plus-award-fee contract DAAH01-00-C-0002. The Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), is a C-130 transportable, wheeled, all weather, indirect fire, rocket/missile system that is capable of firing all rockets and missiles in the current and future MLRS family of munitions. This modification incorporates the revised HIMARS Maturation Detailed Test Schedule, includes post baseline software support through fiscal year 2002, as required for software maintenance, the layout design, and installation verification of the low cost fire control panel, and requirements analysis for Enhanced Position Location Reporting System and the headless applique. Work will be performed in Grand Prairie, Texas, and completion is expected by April 30, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Dec. 22, 1999. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.
