Ever watched a Webcast? On Tuesday at 3 p.m., turn your computer to www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/ and catch Eugene finger-style guitarist Larry Pattis in action.

Pattis will perform a 60-minute solo gig at the famed Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The concert is part of the center's Arts for Everyone Initiative, which offers a free performance every day of the year.

If you can't check it out Tuesday, relax. The program is archived, so Pattis' set will be available online for the foreseeable future, as will the May 5, 2005, set from local guitarist David Jacobs- Strain.

All it will cost is a little computer time.

Television archives, however, are not so easily accessible. Unless you were in front of the TV at 2:30 a.m. Saturday - or you know his mom, who lives in Eugene and probably taped it - you missed Mat Kearney's national television debut.

Kearney, the onetime local prep soccer star turned singer-songwriter, was musical guest on "Last Call With Carson Daly." He sang the title track from his new CD, "Nothing Left to Lose," wearing a railroad cap, blue jeans and about four days worth of stubble.

Daly said he first heard Kearney, who's now based in Nashville, at a "dive bar" while in Texas for the South by Southwest music conference.

"The music's great," Daly said. `Nice, nice music on the show.'

Some of Kearney's other songs sound almost like rap, but with a softer, spoken-word style. On the show, he sounded more like the Counting Crows' Adam Duritz.

Oregon got its due in the chorus of the song: "To a kid from Oregon, by way of California/ All of this is more than I've ever known or seen."

You can download the song from iTunes, Napster, songmusicstore.com and other music sites, but the CD is not yet available for sale on matkearney.com.
