Local associations receive grants.


A total of $4,780 was distributed from the MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association
MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) 
 FOUNDATION FUND to 12 local associations in 2006. Associations receiving grants are:

The MTNA FOUNDATION FUND awards these annual grants to provide assistance to MTNA-affiliated local associations and newly established or currently forming affiliated locals for the education and professional development of teachers and for the promotion of music in the immediate community.

Any MTNA-affiliated local may apply. Projects funded include clinics, master classes, seminars, educational workshops to prepare for certification examinations, community outreach projects and projects promoting interaction between local associations and collegiate chapters, area colleges or other musical or arts organizations.

Applications and guidelines for the 2006 grant program will be available September 1, 2006. The deadline for receiving completed applications will be February 1, 2007. Recipients will be announced at the 2007 MTNA National Conference in Toronto, Ontario, in March and will receive funds no later than May 1.
