) announced today a petition has been filed calling for the removal of Dallas County Sheriff Jim Bowles. The petitioner, Patrick Fassett, is a member of the Dallas County Sheriff's Department and a Dallas County resident.

Filed yesterday afternoon, the petition comes as the result of numerous activities on the part of Sheriff Bowles to incite To arouse; urge; provoke; encourage; spur on; goad; stir up; instigate; set in motion; as in to incite a riot. Also, generally, in Criminal Law to instigate, persuade, or move another to commit a crime; in this sense nearly synonymous with abet.  internal turmoil within the Dallas Sheriff's Department following his defeat for re-election in the March primary. Most recently, Chief Deputy Larry Forsythe asserted Sheriff Bowles attempted to coerce him into signing a false affidavit affidavit
