Local Law 26 went into effect, there has been an explosion in the number of firms entering the photoluminescent materials and safety compliance industry.

With the July 1, 2006 compliance deadline looming looming: see mirage. , property managers are faced with an urgent need for cost-effective, MEA-approved photoluminescent materials that will allow them to comply with the law and ensure tenant safety during a lights-out emergency.

Brady Corporation Brady Corporation is a US based multi-national company specialising in the manufacture of labels and label printers for use in offices and industry. Company History
Brady was founded in 1914 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, as W.H. Brady Co.
developed the BradyGlo Advanced Safety Guidance System based on their 90 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing safety and code compliance products. BradyGlo products are a simple, cost-effective, and MEA MEA Multiple endocrine adenomatosis. See Multiple endocrine neoplasia.  approved solution that allows property owners and managers to achieve full compliance with NYC Local Law 26.

Because Brady specializes in advanced materials Advanced Materials is a leading peer-reviewed materials science journal published every two weeks. Advanced Materials includes Communications, Reviews, and Feature Articles from the cutting edge of materials science, including topics in chemistry, physics,  for industrial safety and identification applications, they were able to engineer a photoluminescent marking system that uses the most durable materials and adhesives to ensure fast installation and long product life. This is an important consideration for property management companies who must consider not only installation costs but also the costs of maintenance over the long term.

Understanding the need for quality, safety, durability, and easy installation, the BradyGlo product line was engineered to save time and money.

* The exclusive Hi-Tack adhesive is as much as 30% stronger than other pressure sensitive adhesives Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA, self adhesive, self stick adhesive) is adhesive that forms a bond when pressure is applied to marry the adhesive with the adherend. No solvent, water, or heat is needed to activate the adhesive. , reducing costly maintenance.

* Pre-cut products avoid time-consuming hand cutting and help ensure a correct and consistent configuration.

* Low-profile construction of pressure sensitive adhesive products easily conforms to handrails, stand pipes, and other circular shapes for faster application.

* These MEA-approved products are made in the U.S.A. for NYC Local Law 26 compliance, and come with a six-year limited warranty Limited warranty

.

The BradyGlo line of photoluminescent products features both self-adhesive and aluminum-backed materials, to accommodate any building surface or application method. Self-sticking adhesive tapes are lightweight, conformable and easy to install. These products require a clean, smooth, dry, nonporous surface for proper adhesion.

Aluminum-backed rigid products are used with a separate construction adhesive that is applied on-site, and performs better on rough and/or porous porous /por·ous/ (por´us) penetrated by pores and open spaces.

surfaces. Both self-sticking adhesive products and aluminum-backed products may be required where surface conditions vary within a single installation.

And, because NYC Local Law 26 specifies unusual product configurations for markings, Brady has created readymade products precut pre·cut

to size and shape to help avoid time-consuming hand cutting of individual pieces. BradyGlo photoluminescent products are designed with rounded or radial-cut corners for improved product life.

Square-cut corners cause more maintenance problems because the corners lift up, creating 'pick points' and causing the material to peel off. Rounded or radial-cut corners stay flat and resist peeling, helping reduce maintenance, repair and replacement costs.

Specially designed packaging and adhesive liners help make BradyGlo products easier to use and reduce costly product waste. The EZ-Release liner simplifies the process of removing the liner from the tape. For BradyGlo self-sticking adhesive products in roll form, the EZ-Dispense packaging allows the product to be dispensed dis·pense

BradyGlo products are virtually maintenance-free and durable, and are designed to withstand normal, routine maintenance and regular cleaning with soap and water. Installed properly, BradyGlo products will provide maximum life and minimum maintenance while affording clear, reliable, visible direction and visual cues to guide people out of a building safely and quickly in an emergency situation.

For building managers who want help interpreting the code and installing code-compliant materials, BradyGlo[TM] Professional Services (job) professional services - A department of a supplier providing consultancy and programming manpower for the supplier's products.  offers a full range of services, including professional installation, on-site training and supervision services if you use your own personnel for installation. These services include instruction on how to perform a post-installation audit to ensure compliance.
