respiratory therapists and paramedics for a day as they teamup
to save the "life" of the world's most advanced human patient
simulator during an interactive teaching exercise at the
world's largest medical simulation conference, hosted by
Sarasota-based METI.
With hundreds of medical and educational experts looking on,
students will discover the "patient" - a life-size, living and
breathing human patient simulator -- in the hotel parking lot
and begin diagnosing and treating the ailing individual,
transferring him to a simulated emergency room for further
treatment, all the while dealing with unexpected and
potentially life-threatening ailments that pop up.
Will the patient live or die? Regardless of the outcome,
following the exercise, interviews will be available with
students as well as with Lou Oberndorf, president and CEO of
