Lloyd's underwriter Kiln plc said its subsidiary R.J. Kiln & Co. Ltd. launched a joint venture to write Asian marine business.


Lloyd's underwriter Kiln kiln (kĭl, kĭln), furnace for firing pottery and enamels, for making brick, charcoal, lime, and cement, for roasting ores, and for drying various substances (e.g., lumber, chemicals).  plc said its subsidiary R.J. Kiln & Co. Ltd. launched a joint venture to write Asian marine business. The joint venture between R.J. Kiln and John Cahill John Cahill (born 27 April, 1940) is an Australian rules football player and coach. During his illustrious career he played football for the Port Adelaide Football Club and then coached Port Adelaide, West Adelaide and Collingwood.  Group, based in Singapore and a part of Lloyd's Asia, will underwrite cargo business throughout Southeast Asia Southeast Asia, region of Asia (1990 est. pop. 442,500,000), c.1,740,000 sq mi (4,506,600 sq km), bounded roughly by the Indian subcontinent on the west, China on the north, and the Pacific Ocean on the east. . The venture will focus on the frozen food industry and cargo rejection insurance. The venture will write on behalf of Lloyd's Syndicate 510, managed by Kiln.
