LIVING WELL: A GUIDE TO HEALTHY AGING, a 27-part series exploring health care issues relevant to adults over 50 and their caregivers, will have its Thirteen/WNET premiere on Saturday, November 6 at 6 a.m. The series continues on Thirteen/WNET New York on subsequent Saturdays at 6 a.m. through May 6, 2000.

LIVING WELL: A GUIDE TO HEALTHY AGING is the only television series whose research was entirely funded by the National Institute on Aging The National Institute on Aging is a division of the U.S. National Institutes of Health, located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Formed in 1974, NIA's mission is to improve the health and well-being of older Americans through research. It is the primary U.S.

Reviewed by nationally recognized experts, the half-hour programs provide comprehensive information on a wide variety of topics, including nutrition and diet; exercise and fitness; legal and financial issues; understanding Medicare, Medicaid and managed care; and communicating with health care professionals and accessing community support.

The series, which aired last year on a number of other public television stations, was recently awarded the National Mature Media Award from The National Associations of the Area Agencies on Aging, and the Tibbetts Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration for developing a commercial product with social significance.
