Litton's Data Systems division in Van Nuys has been awarded a $10.1 million contract to produce an additional 600 handheld digital communications Transmitting text, voice and video in binary form. See communications. terminals for the U.S. Marine Corps.
Litton has produced 3,000 of the terminals which are used by the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army.
The book-sized terminals are used to display, transmit To send data over a communications line. See transfer. and receive alphanumeric alphanumeric (ăl'fən mĕr`ĭk) or alphameric (ăl'fəmĕr`ĭk), the set of letters and numbers. messages and maps.
