The nonblocking redundant systems use high-speed digital voice and data switching techniques to provide digital and analog voice connections between air-traffic controllers within airports and control facilities, between distant FAA facilities and to aircraft flight crews in air-traffic-controlled airspace.

Litton has been a leader in fielding integrated voice switching systems to the FAA for more than 20 years. Since its first Dallas/ Fort Worth installation in 1975, Litton's Amecom Division has equipped 56 airports and 31 automated flight service stations with ICSS ATC ATC Air Traffic Control
