Litton Awarded U.S. Air Force Contract To Support B-1B Bomber.


WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 1998--The U.S. Air Force Warner Robins Warner Robins, city (1990 pop. 43,726), Houston co., central Ga., in an agricultural region; inc. 1943. The 1999 requirements are estimated at $4.2 million. The contract covers a 10-year period with a maximum potential value to Litton of approximately $72 million.  amplifies the electronic jamming signals for the ECM system that protects the aircraft from enemy radar-guided weapons.

Using yearly option releases, WRALC will return used Band-8 TWTs to Litton for test, evaluation and repair. Litton will return repaired units to Warner Robins for placement back into inventory to support the systems in the field.

Litton's Electron Devices Division, located in San Carlos, Calif., designs and manufactures microwave tubes and systems for use in radar, communications, instrumentation, electronic countermeasures and missile systems.
