) in San Jose this week, the Apple Design Awards celebrate the accomplishments of developers' extraordinary work to make the Mac OS one of the easiest to use on the planet. In addition, IBM's ViaVoice for Mac has been listed twice on the New York Times recommended list of business software.

IBM's ViaVoice for Mac US version, announced in December 1999, was the first-to-market continuous speech recognition software for the Macintosh platform, providing Mac users with an intuitive, easy-to-use interface to perform everyday computer tasks, such as creating e-mail and editing documents, by speaking. UK English, French and German versions of ViaVoice for Mac have also been announced and the Japanese version is expected to be released in June 2000.
