Liquid silicone meter-mix unit. (Equipment).

The Model 630 servo motor powered liquid silicone meter-mix unit is designed for mounting on or near an injection molding press, for feeding A and B silicone at a 1:1 ratio to the feed throat of the press. It is supplied as a stand-alone unit with controls or as an integrated unit with I/O interface to injection press controls. Feed pumps supply material to one or many of these machines. This unit is single acting. For medium to large shots, it will refill each cycle after the plasticizing cycle of the press is complete. For small shots, it can be programmed to refill after multiple shots. Pressure transducers in the A and B meter cylinders are said to assure both cylinders are full before closing inlet valves. A servo-electric cylinder extends two plungers to pump and retracts to refill. Pneumatic powered inlet and outlet valves for each material eliminate the need for a shut off valve in the mixed material line. Feed throat pressure is controlled via closed loop between a pressure transducer at the barrel inlet and the servo meter. A linear transducer on the meter gives absolute position and gives the needed pulses to allow color or third stream addition programmable by percentage when used with the SN751 color injector.
