Injection molding presses are available for the production of medical products and other robber components molded from liquid silicone. The presses are said to produce better liquid injection molded parts and provide dramatic increases in productivity, according to the company. The LIM presses are said to be readily converted to run millable materials. The simple alteration between LIM and millable materials requires less than one hour, with the most significant changeover by the operator when switching the pump unit into strip feed. The LIM molding presses are available in c-frame configuration with 15, 27, 40, 80 and 100 ton clamp capacity and with an 80 and 100 ton four-post configuration. The presses are equipped with the company's exclusive first in, first out screw/ram injector that delivers uniformly plasticized and metered shot sizes between 50 and 400 cc. Standard features include a PC-4 microprocessor that delivers large capacity capability for multitasking and provides users with accurate shot repeatability, faster movements and shorter cycle times with a resulting increase in productivity. Optional features available to meet specific customer specifications include a left and/or right shuttle table, hydraulic ejectors in the fixed or movable side, etc. (Starlinger North America)
