Linux Networx will deliver a fifth system, an LS-1 featuring SilverStorm's interconnect fabrics, to the Dugway Proving Ground Dugway Proving Ground (DPG) is a US Army facility located approximately 85 miles (140 km) southwest of Salt Lake City, Utah in southern Tooele County. It encompasses 801,505 acres (3,243.576 km², or 1,252. . These supercomputers will increase the center's computing capability to over 80 trillion floating-point operations, making it one of the largest computing centers within the Department of Defense. Two of the new supercomputers are expected to rank in the top twenty of the world's most powerful computer systems when completed and will be the most capable in the DoD. The systems are part of the Technology Insertion 2006 (TI-06) program, an initiative to modernize the Department of Defense high performance computing (HPC (Handheld PC) A palmtop computer that weighs less than one pound and runs specialized versions of popular applications. "We are excited about supporting our partner, Linux Networx, with industry leading interconnect technology in support of such an important program," said Reini Florin, SilverStorm's Vice President of Marketing. "Using SilverStorm products to build-out these advanced supercomputers will help the defense department improve the safety of U.S. armed forces by bringing new weapons systems online more quickly and more cost effectively."

"The SilverStorm Fabric Director and Edge Fabric Switch products were a good fit for the DoD project.
