Linux Email Leader Scalix Strengthens Management Team with Three New Executives; Experienced Executives to Lead EMEA Sales, Worldwide Marketing and Finance.


SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Scalix, the leading provider of email and calendaring software on Linux, today announced the appointment of three industry veterans to the company's management team. They are Jim Docherty, Vice President, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Refers to that region of the world. For example, one might see products packaged differently for the UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific markets.  Sales; Hal Steger, Vice President, Marketing; and Walter Lim, Vice President, Finance.

All three executives will report directly to Winokur. They are:

Jim Docherty, Vice President, EMEA Sales

Hal Steger, Vice President, Marketing

Steger has over 20 years of experience in bringing to market high-growth, innovative software for IT and business professionals. Prior to Scalix, he managed worldwide marketing at Oblicore, a leading provider of enterprise applications that manage service level and outsourcing agreements. Before Oblicore, he co-founded and served as Vice President of Marketing at two successful startups: RubiconSoft, a pioneer of a new category of real-time enterprise applications, and Rubric, where he positioned the company as the leader in the new category of enterprise marketing automation, prior to a successful acquisition by Broadbase (now Kana) in 2000. Prior to Rubric, Steger held executive and senior marketing roles at Oracle, Uniface/Compuware and several high profile Silicon Valley startups. Walter Lim, Vice President, Finance

Lim has over 20 years of experience in managing financial operations for public technology companies. Prior to joining Scalix, Lim was the Corporate Controller and Senior Director of Finance Operations for Informatica with worldwide responsibility for accounting operations of the $220 million software company, including Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance. Previously, he was a Group Controller for Synopsys, Inc.
