Lincoln Building completes $43m renovation.


The recent completion of corridor renovations at The Lincoln Building The Lincoln Building is an office building located on 60 East 42nd Street in New York City, opposite Grand Central Terminal. It was completed in 1930. The architect was James Edwin Ruthvin Carpenter. It is 673 feet (205 meters) tall with 53 stories and built in neo-gothic style. , a W&H property at 60 East 42nd Street, marks the end of the first phase of a $55 million capital improvements program.

The next phase, budgeted at $12 million, has officially begun, announces John Sinon, associate director of Newmark, the building's managing and leasing agent.

"Also planned is the November delivery of a new group of pre-builts comprising 26,000 square feet. The conversion of an additional 15,000 to 20,000 s/f of space into pre-builts will follow.

"These units are extremely popular," notes Mr. Sinon. "Tenants like them because they enable hassle-free moves."

Part of the W&H Properties portfolio, The Lincoln Building is owned by Lincoln Building Associates, a partnership led by Peter L. Malkin.

"The building has been under the same solid ownership for half a century, which gives it the financial stability that is one of its most attractive features," says Mr. Sinon.

Available space at The Lincoln Building ranges from partial floors of 1,200 rentable square feet to full floors of 12,386 rentable s/f.
