. The show's mission is to find people who are willing to share their passions and the product of their personal expression. Episodes have featured a Corvette corvette, small warship, classed between a frigate and a sloop-of-war. Corvettes usually were flush-decked and carried fewer than 28 guns. They were widely employed in escorting convoys and attacking merchant ships during the great naval wars of the late 18th and  factory, the Louisville Slugger Museum Coordinates:  The Louisville Slugger Museum, a museum located in Louisville, Kentucky's "Museum Row" in the West Main District of downtown, showcases the history of the  and even a metalcasting facility.

The Verdin Co., Cincinnati, fit the mold of the show and was deemed "monster" enough to be featured. Monster Nation's producers caught wind that the firm, which casts bells, carillions and clock brass, had assembled a traveling metalcasting facility a few years ago and thought it would make a nice, small story. But once the producers found out that Verdin cast the World Peace Bell, the world's largest hanging bell at 66,000 lbs., they decided the firm was worthy of an entire episode.

The Verdin Co. packed up its mobile metalcasting facility, which includes a portable furnace, crane and sand mixing machine on the back of a semi trailer, and traveled to Newport, Ky., to cast a 250-lb. bell with the Monster Nation logo.

The episode chronicled the two-day event in which Verdin set up the mobile facility, cast the bell, let it cool overnight, broke it out of the mold, cleaned it and dedicated it. The bell is now displayed at the Monster Nation headquarters.

The television appearance gave Verdin the chance to once again roll out is mobile metalcasting facility, which was originally developed in 2002 when the firm was commissioned to cast a bell in each of Ohio's 88 counties to commemorate com·mem·o·rate

. The appearance also gave Verdin the opportunity to step out of the normal realm of metalcasting and become performers.

"We are metalcasters, not showmen," said Dave Verdin, Verdin's vice president. "So it's a little different doing things in front of a camera. But we were thrilled to be a part of showing off the mobile metalcasting facility--it's our legacy."
