Lifters approach ejection from a new angle.

A new line of pre-engineered lifters is able to cut ejector stroke in half and handle parts with undercuts twice as deep as previously possible. The VectorForm lifter system was created by Takao Injection Mold Engineering of Japan and is now available from D-M-E Co., Madison Heights, Mich. The system, has the lifter rod tied to a novel sliding base instead of a static base in the ejector plate. The sliding base allows the lifter to accommodate angles of 30G or more, while conventional lifters typically reach a maximum of 15. The mold designer also can accelerate or decelerate the movement of the lifter core relative to the ejector plate, a task difficult to do with conventional designs. The system allows for ganging multiple lifter systems to accommodate very large lifter cores, something not before possible with pre-engineered systems, D-M-E says.
