Lifetime's 'The Designing Women Reunion' Becomes Second Highest Rated Special In Network's 19-Year History.

NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Who says lightning doesn't strike twice? Lifetime Television's "The Designing Women Reunion" on July 28 garnered a 3.1 household rating (3.3 million viewers), becoming the second-highest-rated special in Lifetime's 19-year history -- just behind "The Golden Girls Reunion," which scored a 3.7 HH rating (4.2 million viewers) on June 2.

An estimated 9.7 million viewers watched the "Designing Women" evening from 7-11PM on Lifetime Monday evening.

The "Designing Women" evening included an "Intimate Portrait" of Delta Burke at 7PM, the 90-minute special from 8-9:30PM, which featured stars Dixie Carter, Delta Burke, Annie Potts, Jean Smart and Meshach Taylor reminiscing about their favorite moments, the series pilot at 9:30PM (which also averaged a 3.1 household rating), and two episodes of the sitcom -- especially selected by the cast -- from 10-11PM.

"The Designing Women Reunion" was produced by Mozark Productions for Sony Pictures Television Inc. Harry Thomason ("Designing Women" and "Evening Shade") and Linda Bloodworth ("Designing Women" and "Evening Shade") were the executive producers.
