Life and property/casualty divide.In November of 1906, the Best's Review changed. Instead of one publication containing life and property/casualty news, two publications were created--one for each line of business. In the first life insurance publication, Mutual Life of New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of and New York Life officer elections were discussed in great length. The story of the candidates and elections plays out like a soap opera soap opera Broadcast serial drama, characterized by a permanent cast of actors, a continuing story, tangled interpersonal situations, and a melodramatic or sentimental style. while Best's Review focused on the interests of policyholders and not politics. The property/casualty issue of Best's Review focused once more on the Great San Francisco Earthquake San Francisco earthquake disaster claiming many lives and most of city (1906). [Am. With particular attention on the fires, it was noted that letters were addressed to insurance companies asking what had been done to protect policyholders, and the majority replied, "Nothing." Best's Review responded, "As it turns out, no harm was done by the departments giving this leeway lee·way n. 1. The drift of a ship or an aircraft to leeward of the course being steered. 2. A margin of freedom or variation, as of activity, time, or expenditure; latitude.
