Liebert announces SiteScan monitoring and alarm system. (New Products).


Liebert Corporation has announced the availability of SiteScan Web, the company's new open standards Specifications for hardware and software that are developed by a standards organization or a consortium involved in supporting a standard. Available to the public for developing compliant products, open standards imply "open systems;" that an existing component in a system can be replaced  Web-based global monitoring and alarm management system for computer support systems in business-critical facilities. Computing and communication systems depend upon power and environmental systems for reliable operation. SiteScan Web helps minimize the effects of unforeseen temperature changes and power interruptions in computer rooms, telecommunications centers and industrial process control facilities through early problem detection and automatic notification of responsible personnel. Systems supported include UPS and battery systems, static transfer switches, power distribution units, HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) In the home or small office with a handful of computers, HVAC is more for human comfort than the machines. In large datacenters, a humidity-free room with a steady, cool temperature is essential for the trouble-free  equipment, generators, fuel tanks, security access points and fire detection systems. SiteScan Web's open architecture was designed to more easily incorporate graphical floor plans, maps or building pictures. Users can adapt SireScan Web to their requirements using familiar components like Java, Microsoft FrontPage Microsoft FrontPage (later full name Microsoft Office FrontPage) was a WYSIWYG HTML editor and web site administration tool from Microsoft for the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems. It was part of Microsoft Office application suite from 1997 to 2003. , and Internet Explorer; and interoperable databases like Oracle, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server A relational DBMS from Microsoft that is a major component of the Windows Server System. It is Microsoft's high-end client/server database and is closely integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio and the Microsoft Office System. . It also includes enhanced trend writing tools to support preventive maintenance programs.
