Lexmark International, Inc., today announced a special holiday rebate offer for its highly acclaimed Lexmark 1000 Color Jetprinter. With a street price of $139 (U.S.),(a) the Lexmark 1000 is now available in the U.S. for a mere $99 after a $40 mail-in rebate. This special offer is good from now through Jan. 31. Setting new standards for high quality at an affordable price, the Lexmark 1000 Color Jetprinter has a small footprint that is particularly appealing for home offices and dorm rooms where desk space is limited. The Lexmark 1000 is widely available in stores such as Office Max, Office Depot Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) is one of the world's leading suppliers of office products and services. The Lexmark 7000 Color Jetprinter broke the performance barrier by offering 1200 x 1200 dpi--a resolution that was previously only available with lasers. Now we are breaking a price barrier by offering laser quality text and color for $99."

The Lexmark 1000 Color Jetprinter can print at up to 600 x 600 dpi in both color and in black when used with Lexmark's Super Sharp Waterproof Black Ink cartridge. It prints up to 1.5 pages per minute in color draft mode and 3.5 pages per minute in black draft mode (with the optional black cartridge).

The printer is designed to work with Windows 95, 3.1 and 3.11. Its unique two-tone color cover make it an easy fit into today's home decor.

Lexmark also has a new family of standard color, black and waterproof black inkjet cartridges designed for consumers who have lower volume printing needs. The Lexmark 1000 ships with the standard color print cartridge. Lexmark also offers its High Yield cartridges for the Lexmark 1000.

The Lexmark 1000 Color Jetprinter includes the ColorFine 2 Driver with ColorSort (with banner printing and iron-on transfer printing capability) and special driver technology for on-screen on·screen or on-screen
