It grew out of a U.S. Defense Department program called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), established in 1969 with connections between computers at the Capital Group and a provider of Web-based services for electronically filing legal documents and accessing and monitoring court records. No terms of the deal were given. The deal is subject to, among other things, approval be Court- Link shareholders. CourtLink claims to have been the first company to create a single online platform for both electronically accessing records and filing documents with the courts. The company has 90 courts online and adds over 1 million pages electronically filed and served per month. In Colorado, CourtLink developed and now operates the first and only state-wide electronic filing system. The service enables users to search and retrieve case information from more than 200 million records in 1400 federal, state and local court systems. CourtLink services include eAccess, eFile, and eFM, a software product for court case management systems.
