Lexar Media Appoints David J. Nealon as Vice President of Operations.

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 2000

Lexar Media, Inc. (NASDAQ:LEXR) today announced that David J. Nealon has been appointed vice president of operations with responsibilities for United States and international manufacturing and distribution. Nealon will report to Eric Stang, chief operating officer, and will run operations, including sourcing, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, planning and logistics.

Nealon brings over 28 years of experience in managerial-level domestic and international production and operations for clients within the computer, storage, printer, copier and disk drive sectors. In his most recent position, Nealon served as vice president operations for start-up Quinta Corporation, a Seagate company that produces optically- assisted Winchester disk The Winchester Disk

 drives. Nealon was responsible for establishing all manufacturing systems, facilities, information systems, materials purchasing and quality assurance processes.

Prior to Quinta, Nealon served as vice president worldwide operations for Micronics Computers, Inc., directing manufacturing, product engineering, quality, materials management, purchasing and facilities. During his tenure with Micronics Computers, Nealon was instrumental in initiating several cost cutting and cost containment programs, working to maintain overhead during new product introductions, redevelopment of facilities and initiation of various U.S. and offshore sourcing programs. He also managed offshore assembly house communications.

Earlier in his career, Nealon served as vice president, Far East operations for Maxtor Corporation, a manufacturer of Winchester disk drives. He was responsible for the Singapore and Malaysian plants, managing international operations in facilities, R&D, engineering, quality and human resources. Nealon also served as Far East controller for Maxtor. Nealon graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Production Management.
